One can only have an effective hatch when the sun shines bright and warm – something we had none of today as I clear snow off my front element to capture this shot of our master fisherman. We worked the river for hours but none of us managed to catch any fish despite working hard – perhaps they were deep and didn’t want to play? Still we had a fantastic time seeing lots of wildlife like Ospreys returning and Moose cow and calf gracing their waters, while no matter who fared any better – which helps a bit; simply put, no sun means no bugs!
