Sharon and I always make time for Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge when running errands together, taking special note to visit this refuge this time of year when Sandhill Cranes nest in its bosom. At first, the weather was somewhat dismal before breaking briefly before rain returned and settled back down again. Snow line is high on Bitterroot Mountains giving them their signature white cap which looks absolutely breathtaking! As clouds danced overhead with sun peeking out from hiding & playing hide & seek, I could not help but take in its beauty and marvel. Even though we didn’t find cranes on this field trip, we did enjoy stunning views to thank us for coming. Once rain began falling again on us and snow was falling on the mountainsides, the weather told us it was time to head home; yet we questioned its intentions.
