Sanderlings know when the light is bad when their shadows cast on the sand are short and black – this only saving grace is that photography in such light uses the sand as a natural bounce card to fill in some of their shadows. Shooting this morning was good in OBX but birds were scarce – all it takes is one to make this shoot truly spectacular! Along with hearing wild pancakes calling, when light conditions are harsh it’s definitely time for breakfastie!
